August:

  • 7th & 8th: LOORs @ Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernadino, CA - What a weekend. It did not start out well, the first practice out the clutch blew because of spring issues. Really the day did not end well either, Robert did not qualify for Saturdays race and was put in the back of the pack. I happy to report the clutch issue is hopefully fixed. Robert placed 4th on Saturday. He had 3rd clinched and was moving in to take 2nd, but (because of damage from the clutch on Friday) on the LAST lap around the LAST corner before the finish line his car popped into neutral. Disappointment! Sunday went much better. Robert wire tired something and it worked. He and Chad had a great on Sunday battling back and forth for first. About half way through his sway bar broke and he had difficulties hitting the corners hard. So, he gave up first for 2nd. All in all a good weekend.

June:

  • 26th & 27th: LOORs @ Miller Motorsports Park in Tooelle, UT - I was so excited for this weekend of racing. Robert and Dan worked hard to get the clutch dialed in and the car was running great. Are you waiting for the "BUT." :) Things did not go as well as expected. We had major mechanical issues with the rear diff's and breaks. The guys spent hours on rebuilding them both Saturday and Sunday. The racing was great to watch, the track was brutal. Robert placed 4th on Saturday and 5th on Sunday.

May:

  • 22nd & 23rd: LOORs @ Las Vegas Motor Speedway -  Rounds 5/6 at Las Vegas proved to be a challenge with the fuel injection system. Robert placed 4th on Saturday. Rob worked some magic with the computer and we squeezed out a 2nd place win on Sunday.

April:

  • 24th & 25th: Whiplash Monster Truck Nationals @ Firebird - Saturday's race was motorcross racing with the traditional 2 motos. Robert placed 2nd in the first moto, it was a battle to the very end. And he was taken out in the second moto. Apparently he sent a set of large tires used as a barrier flying and he broke his steering rack.
  • 17th & 18th: LOORs @ Speedworld - Rounds 3/4 went a lot better. There is a need for some fine tuning to the car, but it was a great weekend! Robert made the podium both days. A 2nd place win on Saturday and 3rd for Sunday. It will be great to see how the car works at rounds 5/6 in Vegas in May. Expectations are high.

March:

  • 6th & 7th: LOORs @ Las Vegas Motor Speedway - Our first big race of the season had its ups and downs. We lost a motor during qualifying on Friday.  Everyone was a big help in getting it pulled and the back up motor back in for the race on Saturday, however the EFI was not right and only one cylinder was firing. So, Robert made it in time to cross the green flag at the start to get points and headed back to the pits to save the motor for Sunday. Redline came over and helped fix the computer for Sundays race. It was a crazy race and Robert placed 2nd. Loved the track, ohhh was it cold and wet!

February:

  • 27th: ASCC @ Speedworld - So, I did not go to this race and cannot give a blow by blow account other than to say that Robert placed 2nd in the Heat race and 2nd in the Main. He and Dan raced their Rhino's with the R1 motor. They were up all night and did not sleep at the races, I imagine they were running on adrenaline.
  • 13th:  Whiplash @ Speedworld - This was an interesting setup for racing over the weekend. Saturdays race utilized the Lucas Oil track and Sunday was desert racing. Robert started out Saturday in the first moto running the Teryx with the 1000 in it, but was having issues with it. So, on the second moto he switched to the Rhino with the R1 motor. The car is crazy fast, but the the throttle cable came off so he was driving with it in his hand! He placed 3rd for his class combining the 2 moto's. He did not race on the 14th, HELLO it is Valentine's Day. Seriously, I need some time with him too.

January:

  • 23rd: WORCS @ Speedworld - Robert debuted his 1000cc Benchmark Teryx motor for this race. It started out great, he got the holeshot and flying but he landed a jump and the rear upright broke. So, he was done on the first lap. It was very disappointing. The race was a mix of desert and motocross totaling 45 minutes. He did win the Holeshot award. A swanky T-shirt I get to wear. :) And on a good note, his teammate Dan "Bronco" Kelly won first place.
  •  3rd: AzGPS @ Speedworld - Robert placed 1st at this race in his class. Great way to start the season.
